How long to wait before applying a 2k clearcoat over the leafing? Should I apply some sort of sealer before clear?

Basically, how long does it need to cure before applying a 2k clear coat? Would it be better to use a sealer or mid-coat between leafing and the 2k clear coat. I'm having a problem where I lay down some copper leafing, apply a 2k clear coat (Spraymax Glamour) then I tape and paint designs over the 2k clear, then when I pull up the tape or vinyl stencils the foil separates and lifts away from the base coat sticking to the fine line tape, like there is a problem with the glue binding the foil to the base coat. I am sanding the base coat with 800 grit sandpaper before applying the Lime Line sizing glue.
