Heavy metal flake usually needs four to five good coats of clear to bury and level the texture, depending on the flake size and application. Apply controlled coats and avoid trying to bury the flake in one heavy coat. For a show-quality finish, cure, level-sand without reaching the flake, and re-clear if needed.
